DSA Tech Week: Practical solutions for software-defined vehicles
In mid-June, DSA US and SKYLYZE welcomed customers and partners to DSA Tech Week in Troy, Michigan. The event focused on technologies for software deployment and vehicle software management, enabling OEMs and suppliers to seamlessly integrate development, production, logistics, service and vehicle operation.
Live demonstrations showcased how software can be reliably deployed, updated and secured throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle. Back-end systems, diagnostic applications and flashing hardware work together seamlessly, laying the foundation for scalable software processes in software-defined vehicles.
Software processes across the entire vehicle lifecycle
As software complexity increases, so do the demands on OEMs and suppliers. Platforms and tools that automate deployment, diagnostics and updates are becoming increasingly important.
DSA US and SKYLYZE presented an integrated portfolio. It comprises platforms for managing vehicle software, automated flashing systems for development, production and suppliers, as well as diagnostic and test functions that are executed directly in the vehicle via the On-Board Diagnostics app. This streamlines processes and allows diagnostic functions to be reused across different areas.
Another key focus was the deployment of software updates across large vehicle fleets. The experts presented PRODIS.YardFlash as an example to demonstrate how update campaigns can be centrally planned, managed and monitored, and how many vehicles can be updated simultaneously on factory premises, in distribution centres or at logistics sites. The solution shortens roll-out times, reduces manual effort and provides a transparent overview of the campaign status.
Addressing current requirements
Technical presentations and discussions addressed current developments relating to software-defined vehicles. The focus was on interconnected development, production and service processes, as well as strategies for the secure management of vehicle software throughout its entire lifecycle.
Discussions with customers and partners revealed that there is a particular demand for scalable concepts that reliably integrate software distribution, diagnostics and update processes. Overall, DSA Tech Week highlighted how companies can use the technologies presented to deploy software more quickly, roll out updates in a controlled manner and standardise their processes across all phases of the vehicle lifecycle.
